The sky’s the limit for mechanical showcase – Mackay’s Mechanos Wings and Wheels

Motor enthusiasts, budding aviators and mechanical geniuses, come one come all from land, air or sea to experience Mackay’s Mechanos Wings and Wheels event on 14 August.

Along with the first full aerobatic stunt display in over 20 years, the event will showcase Hot Rod Alley, VW Corner and Aeroplane Lane featuring hundreds of vehicles, motorbikes, trains, jet skis, go karts, stationary engines, robots, planes, helicopters, ultra lights and custom built mechanical marvels from 9am at the Mackay Aero Club.

With an impressive line up of delicious food vendors including Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe, Pinnacle Pies, Woodfired Pizzas and Gelatissimo, there will be something for everyone at the annual event that will amaze and excite event-goers of all ages throughout the day.

“Mechanos Wings and Wheels is the ultimate family experience. We have incorporated a range of kids entertainment and rides, ski dive displays, roving entertainment, loads of machinery as well as robotics – to keep everyone in the family entertained,” said Jarryd Townson, Event Organiser.

With a vast line-up of entertainment, the event is perfect for those coming from out of town looking for an exciting weekend away he said.

“We are very grateful to have the support of Ibis Mackay to offer accommodation packages for individuals or families coming from out of town by road or by air. We have done our best to make sure that everyone is included and has the opportunity to witness an event that is building up to international standards”, he said.

With all rides and entertainment at Kids Kingdom included in the $5 (early bird) kids entry including merry go round, side show rides, jumping castle, slot cars, train rides, gyrobix etc, now is the time to purchase early bird tickets through the website before it ends on 31 July.

Funds raised from this year’s event go back into the aviation sector through the Mackay Aero Club, CQ Rescue and Tigermoth Museum.
