CFMOTO 800MT Explore Pushing New Boundaries

Chinese manufacturer CFMoto have taken a jump into the premium Adventure Bike market with the CFMOTO 800MT Explore.

Although this is the fourth iteration of the model, it marks a significant step forward as the engine and ancillaries are a notch up in quality from previous models, making for a better ride, but also a hike in price.

The CFMOTO 800MT Explore will retail for $16,490 ride away.

Utilising the now mandatory water-cooled parallel twin, the 800MT encompasses all the mod cons like TFT, slipper clutch, electronic throttle, bluetooth connectivity paired to navigation, cruise and traction control, as well as upmarket suspension and braking.

Other innovations and acronyms not seen before on the CFMoto are the 8-inch Multi-Media Interface display, Behind Radar System (BRS), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Collision Warning (RCW) and Switchable ABS front and rear

The heart of the 800MT is the KTM-designed 799cc engine, the very same that CFMOTO produced for last year’s KTM 790, but the 800MT Explore has had its power delivery revamped to provide more torque and usability.

From all accounts this latest version rides well and other than being a bit beefier than the opposition, provides excellent road and trail performance, largely on par with the field.

CFMOTO also have a comprehensive array of adventure riding accessories available for the 800MT.

CFMOTO importers Mojo Motorcycles have already sold 30,000 vehicles in Australia – they also have a large range of ag trikes and four wheelers – and the bikes have a three year warranty which can be extended by another year if all routine servicing is undertaken.
