Whangerai to Cape Reinga round trip

Trip started in Whangerai and first waypoint was Whanenaki where i met these lads and saw some beutiful beach front. This house was amazing! Here’s me on the beach. Spent the first night in Russell.  What a beautiful town with nice restaurants right on the water.  Stayed at The Duke off Marlborough. Rode down to Mimiwhangata th next day. This was the view to the right from my bike. This was the view to the left. And i spotted a microwave mailbox. This is my ride. A 2016 KLR 650. I bought it on TradeMe.NZ .  It was a press bike for Kawasaki NZ before it was sold and sat in a garage for several years. Had fish and chips in Manganui on the way to Pokenui where I spent the second night. The next morning I hit ninety mile beach on my way to Cape Reinga.  I rode about 30 miles on the beach.  That was an amazing experience. Here’s a panorama shot of a farm the is close to Cape Reinga. And there’s the Cape.  I rode down to Opononi via the ferry at Rowena where i spent the night.  There I met JoAnne and Al from Alberta who shared their dinner of fresh snapper with me.  Lovely people. There were Harley riders there who were having a large time.The next morning I proceeded to Dargaville via the Twin Coast highway before returning to Whangerai.  Here’s a map of my trip differen highlighted routes for each day.
