Friends of the Vintage Motorcycle Alliance, LLC!

We have formed an  “alliance” with the

Volusia County Fairgrounds at 3150 E New York Ave, Deland, Florida.First, we will be located at the hub of several main highways (on route 44 just east of I-4), and in real estate the 3 principles are location, location, and location. We anticipate an immense increase in exposure and customer traffic flow as we will be 25 minutes from Daytona. There are enhanced facilities as we now have the luxury of showers, with hot water. The basic elements of VMA International Vintage Swap Meet and Show remain unchanged–same vendors, same cost and size vending spaces, same food trucks. We promise, dependent on layouts, to maintain location of your vending spots in association to your neighbors of previous years, if you wish. VJMC, who provided the wonderful motorcycle show for the last six years, will accompany us to this new location. Camping with motor homes, travel trailers, and tents will be allowed. Vendors can certainly reside with their inventory. Adult beverages are not only permitted but welcomed.
There is a long list of returning vendors that will possibly make this the largest SWAP MEET assembled during BIKE WEEK.
This appears to be an enormous opportunity for us all–closer to Daytona traffic but not submersed in the melee of the events staged there. We feel fortunate to be able to spend time with our favorite friends and illustrious cohorts.

GLOBAL ISSUES CALL FOR A VIRTUAL SWAP MEET!

Vintage Motorcycle Alliance has experienced growth in an unscheduled way. While we traveled and vended at swap meets, sellers discussed the hours of abusive work necessary to succeed at shows. We thoroughly enjoy our customers and vendor comradery, the atmosphere and electricity in the air… but to load up, unpack, set up our show, and days later tear it down, repack and return home is exhausting and seldom fun.

COVID had stymied most events this past year, and potentially into the future as well. We need a PLAN B. A critique of alternative sales formats provided an analysis of the most advantageous elements. Georges’ World-Wide Trader of years ago was a favorite, EBay is a necessary venue for some, and Craigs’ List seems insecure.  Maybe a homogenized version of them all would make sense?  READ MORE
