MOTUL and MV Agusta Sign Wide-ranging Global Partnership

One of the most historic and legendary motorcycle manufacturers, MV Agusta, has signed a wide-ranging global partnership with one of the world’s leading lubricant companies, Motul.

The deal covers use of the company’s extensive range of products at all levels in the Italian marque’s factory, plus a first-fill and service fill for all motorcycles bearing the prestigious brand’s name.  In addition, many decades of competition experience from the lubricant experts will benefit carefully selected partners through an all-encompassing racing collaboration in the Motul-sponsored FIM Superbike World Championship.

Marco Baraldi, Motul Italy General Manager, spoke warmly of the newly agreed association:  “We are delighted to announce this new partnership with a brand as iconic, legendary and prestigious as MV Agusta. I am delighted that this Ingredient has finally found its place of prominence with our new agreement.”

MV Agusta, which was rejuvenated in 2010 by the late motorcycling magnate Claudio Castiglioni, makes state-of-the-art machines such as the new Brutale, F3 and radical F4.  The key ingredients in the making of an Agusta are emotion, performance, speed and incomparable design – all of which are shared by Motul and reflected in the new 360° global agreement which can be identified as follows:

• INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIP

MV Agusta’s production facilities in Varese will use products from Motul Group’s industrial lubricants division, MotulTech. These high technology lubricants are developed and manufactured specifically for the lubrication of industrial equipment as well as for the machining and transformation of metals.

The agreement with MV Agusta will include the supply of Industrial maintenance lubricants such as hydraulic, gear and slideway oils and greases. The metal working operations will benefit from soluble fluids supply; parts cleaning & protection solutions finally complete MotulTech’s supply.

The goal is to offer MV Agusta a comprehensive solution of top tier products for the entire production process, reflecting its “Casted, Drilled, Filled” concept. For every stage, from creation to finished product, Motul has the appropriate product.

• FIRST-FILL PARTNERSHIP

Recognised for its comprehensive, reliable and high-performing range of products for production machines, Motul’s products will be used in all MV Agusta bikes including Motul 7100 100% synthetic engine oil, brake fluids and coolants.

• SERVICE FILL PARTNERSHIP

With Motul offering a presence in over 100 countries worldwide, and an extensive distribution network, MV Agusta will strongly recommend Motul’s products to its own distributors as a result of this partnership.

• RACING PARTNERSHIP

Famous names and legends such as Giacomo Agostini, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, and Phil Read are inexorably linked with the MV Agusta name.

The marque has a long-held passion for competition, as does Motul, and the new racing partnership will include a joint venture in the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team.  In WorldSBK, Léon Camier will receive the racing expertise that have brought Motul multiple world championship titles, while in the World Supersport category Lorenzo Zanetti and Jules Cluzel will profit from this support.

From the first round of the series at Phillip Island in Australia on 26-28 February, all MV Agusta 1000 F4 & MV Agusta F3 675 competition bikes have been using products from the Motul Factory Line range, especially the famous 300V lubricants as well as Motul MC Care products.

From the moment of conception to realization, Motul and MV Agusta will take every turn of the wheel together to create new legends and new pages in the annals of motorcycling history.
