KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye – Get On It!

Hot on the wheels of the highly successful KTM Australia Adventure Rallye in March, Aussie adventure riders will now have the opportunity to sample the finest riding NZ has to offer with the KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye.

Taking place from December 1-5, the KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye is a 5-day, 1500-kilometre trek that takes in some of New Zealand’s juiciest back country gravel roads on an adventure-packed coast to coast North Island blast.

NZ Rallye Route Coordinator and KTM adventure riding legend Chris Birch is a North Island local, and he’s drawn on his experience, contacts, and his knowledge of both the area and the KTM Adventure range to create a journey to remember.

KTM Australia is excited to offer local and International riders the chance to take part in the inaugural KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye by offering KTM Adventure Rentals, but there’s just one caveat – you’ll need to hurry! There are only eight 1190 Adventure standard models still available.

For riders intending to ship their own motorcycle to New Zealand for the Rallye, KTM Australia recommends Dave Milligan’s shipping company Get Routed (IMPORTANT: Please contact Dave before
AUGUST 12 with expressions of interest so he can put together a suitable package for you).

KTM NZ Adventure Rallye is open to Orange Adventure Riders with the following eligible KTM bikes: 640, 690, 950, 990, 1050, 1190, 1190R & 1290 SA models. The Rallye is tailored to suit all rider abilities, from first year Adventure riders up to seasoned Adventure pros.

Bring old friends or make new ones, as you traverse a route that includes a mix of sealed roads, gravel, back country roads, forest trails and tracks that are normally inaccessible.

There will also be a number of more difficult sections for riders looking for an extra challenge.

The KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye will start on the North Island’s East Coast at Papamoa Beach (20min south of Tauranga), and cover between 250km to 300km per day, heading across to finish on the West Coast in New Plymouth, five days later.

Overnight destinations along the way include Gisborne, Taupo and Taumaranui. Riders will experience the amazing scenery that New Zealand has to offer while they enjoy the capabilities of their KTM Adventure motorcycle.
